Chikondi Sports Youth Arise Foundation-CSYAF yesterday concluded a two days Zikomo Street Handball and Safeguarding Workshop in Eastern Province of Chipata District in Zambia. 12 P.E teachers and community coaches from different parts of Chipata have been trained as Street Handball Practitioners.
The SH workshop was attend by the Provincial Sports Advisory Committee Chairman- PSAC Mr. Abisalom Miti who represented the National Sports Council of Zambia – NOCZ . In his remarks, Mr. Miti encouraged the newly training practitioners to go back and implement what they have learnt during the workshop. Street handball is a new sport which we have received with both hands and will make sure that the project is supported in any way possible, he added.
The 2 days’ workshop was officially closed by the Zikomoプロジェクト Project Founder Mr. Tashiro Seiji. In his closing remarks, he gave a brief background of street handball and congratulated the newly trained P.E teachers and community coaches for being the first Street handball practitioners to be trained in Eastern Province in Chipata. The facilitator of the workshop was Mr. Joseph Yusuf Daka who is also the CEO and Founder of CSYAF. The workshop that started on February 16th at Chipata Day Secondary School came to an end on the February 17th, 2024.

The Olympafrica Center Director Tinyiko Lucert Kamanga officially opened the workshop.

Photo Focus: 12 P.E teachers and community coaches from different parts of Lusaka have been trained in a 2 days Street Handball and safeguarding workshop under Zikomo Project organized by Chikondi Sports Youth Arise Foundation – CSYAF in Lusaka from February 9 to 10 at Olympafrica Center, Zambia.
The Olympafrica Center Director Tinyiko Lucert Kamanga officially opened the workshop, in her opening remarks. She recommended Zikomo Project and CSYAF for the introduction of Kids’ Street Handball and said her office is open to support and work with Organizations like Chikondi Sports Youth Arise Foundation that promotes grassroots sport. In addition, the center director said it gives her so much joy to see that Street Handball is played in Line with the rules of Fair Play which is one of the values among other values like Respect, Friendship and Excellence that the center is promoting under the Olympic Value Education Program OVEP. She encouraged the P.E teachers and community coaches to put the knowledge gained in the workshop to practices and make sure that every child has an opportunity play Street Handball as it is a fun sport for all age groups.
The CSYAF under Zikomoプロジェクト Zikomo Project aim to make Street Handball sustainable through the education of P.E teachers and coaches in various schools and communities. We believe, in doing so, the trained P.E teachers and Coaches will motivate children from Private schools, Clubs and other groupings to get involved in physical activity so as to revitalize Street Handball in line with FAIR PLAY in Zambia.
The workshop was facilitated by the CSYAF Chief Executive Officer and Founder Mr. Joseph Yusuf Daka, the project will be implemented in 2 provinces, which is Lusaka Province and Eastern (Chipata) Province targeting children and young people from the ages of 4 to 15 years old.
Chikondi Sports Academy conducted it’s last event of the year 2023.
Chikondi Sports Academy has introduced Kids’ Street Handball Pop-Up in Mandevu Compound of Lusaka, the event was held at Mutambe ground attracting over 50 children and young people.

Chikondi Sports Academy 2024 Kids’ Sports Activities to open February 12.
We offer fun and simple games and activities that get young people moving, and help them develop the fundamental movement skills for athletics and many other sports.
At Chikondi Sports Academy we conduct activities that introduces children and young people between 4 to 15 years to athletics disciplines, and help them further develop their movement skills for competitive athletics. In addition, we are using the power of Street handball to promote a positive health lifestyle among children and young people in line with FAIR PLAY RULES.
