Not much longer to the inaugural Street Handball Malawi – April 6, April 27, May 11 2025 – Events 9, 10, 11
The sun was shining bright as the Street Handball events on April 6 and April 27, 2025, brought together children and youth in Malawi to engage in a sport that fosters unity, physical health, and personal growth. With each event, participants demonstrated improved skills and increased enthusiasm, embodying the true spirit of Street Handball – an inclusive and accessible sport for all.
After the games, participants underwent physical tests, allowing them to track their progress and set new goals. “Children’s growth is our hope for the future,” said one of the organizers, emphasizing the importance of building both physical fitness and community connections through sport.
Street Handball Malawi – January 19, February 2, 2025 – Events 7 and 8
The 2025 Street Handball season in Malawi kicked off with two exciting events on January 19 and February 2. Despite being in the midst of the rainy season, the sun broke through for a perfect day of play, where each participant got to experience the joy of a powerful throw and the camaraderie of team play.
Street Handball Malawi continues to thrive under the guidance of local leaders and Street Handball International. “Stay healthy even during the rainy season,” was the message to all participants as they wrapped up a successful session, ready to come back for more next week.
Street Handball Malawi – October 13, November 10, 26, 2024 – Events 4, 5, 6, Lilongwe
Street Handball Malawi continued its momentum with three impactful events held in Lilongwe on October 13, November 10, and November 26, 2024. The focus was on engaging the youth, fostering leadership, and training the next generation of Street Handball coaches. “Africa’s majority youth population wants educational and training opportunities, greater democracy and respect for human rights, technological exchanges, and innovation,” said a Street Handball International representative, highlighting the mission to empower youth through sport.
The November 26 event was particularly memorable as a handball coach from Malawi officially joined the team, signifying a step forward in building a sustainable program that trains successors to carry the torch for Street Handball Malawi.
Street Handball Malawi – September 1, 15, 29, 2024 – Events 1, 2, 3
Street Handball made its official debut in Malawi with three initial events held on September 1, 15, and 29, 2024. Participants of all ages gathered to learn the basics of Street Handball and experience the joy of playing together. The sessions were filled with energy, smiles, and the foundational values of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Street Handball Malawi is on course, and the positive atmosphere of these sessions set the stage for a thriving community of players who are excited to continue learning and growing through the sport.
August 30, 2024 – Street Handball Session Announcement
Excitement is building as Street Handball Malawi prepares to launch its first official training session on September 1, 2024. A friend of Street Handball International is wrapping up his sports administration course and is ready to take on the challenge of introducing Street Handball to the local community.
