We are pleased to share that Kvaglund IF’s women’s handball team from Denmark successfully visited The Gambia from 5th to 15th February 2026 and has now safely returned home to Denmark.
The visit was part of a handball development and cultural exchange tour, organised by Kvaglund IF Handball Club in partnership with Street Handball Gambia.
The purpose of the trip was to promote women’s and girls’ handball, strengthen international friendship and cooperation between The Gambia and Denmark, organise friendly matches with local teams, and introduce handball to schools and local communities.
During their stay, the team was warmly welcomed and hosted with the support of Street Handball Gambia’s Fair Play Coach and Project Manager, Dawda Bah, together with his team. Their support played an important role in making the visit meaningful and successful, in line with the shared vision of empowering girls through sport and creating a positive social impact.
Street Handball Gambia was delighted to welcome Kvaglund IF’s women’s handball team to “The Smiling Coast of West Africa”, and the visit became an educational, inspiring, and memorable experience for everyone involved. See all the photos.
We are grateful to everyone who supported the project and helped make the trip possible.

Street Handball Matches / Workshops
During the visit, they played street handball at the National Stadium with the U17 national team before the regular handball session.
They also visited Bakoteh Upper Basic School to hold School Outreach Street Handball Sessions, where the girls had the opportunity to share the joy of handball with local students and the surrounding community.
As part of our Schools Street Handball Outreach Workshop, we also visited Fandema Institute / Mbolo Association in Tujereng, continuing our mission of bringing handball, movement, and joy to even more children and young people in the local community.
Thank you for the great cooperation to Kvaglund IF Women’s Team — we hope to see you again soon.
– All the best from Dawda Bah, Street Handball Project Manager and Fair Play Coach.
