𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 – 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵!

On the occasion of the 4th World Street Handball Days, we came together for a day filled with energy, learning, friendship, and, of course, lots of fun with a ball in hand!

𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 to warm up and connect with each other. Then we worked on passing, goalkeeping, stretching, shooting, and different handball skills — learning from and supporting one another along the way.

But it wasn’t just about training. It was about learning, sharing, having fun, and building the spirit of street handball together.

🌍 From Chipata to the World – Street Handball for Everyone! 🤾‍♀️

Today, the ZIKOMO Project in Zambia joined the world in celebrating the 4th World Street Handball Day with two exciting training sessions led by Coach Andrew Banda, one at Chipata Day Secondary School and another at Groenward Academy in Chipata.

The children had fun while demonstrating fair play, teamwork, and excitement for sport.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝘆𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁! 🤩🤾‍♀️

We asked Bramming Byfest if there was room for a Street Handball court again this year – and fortunately, there was! 🙌

We were a little excited at first, as the funfair naturally attracted many of the children. But it quickly turned into an absolutely fantastic afternoon, where we also celebrated the 4th World Street Handball Days together. 🌍🤾

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆. Some took on our shooting challenge, where the fastest time of the day was an impressive 17 seconds! 💥 Others played fun games – 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3 and more – with plenty of sweat and big smiles! 😄💪

Celebrating the 4th World Street Handball Day! With Mpezeni Park School – ZIKOMO Project in Zambia

Sunday 9/08/26, was a memorable day for the ZIKOMO Project in Zambia, as children from the surrounding Mpezeni Park School Ground community in Chipata came together to celebrate the 4th World Street Handball Day.

The celebration featured team warm-ups, fun blindfold activities, basic Street Handball skills, exciting 4-a-side Street Handball games, and a value education session at the end.

Beyond the fun, the activities encouraged teamwork, fair play, communication, confidence, and active participation among the children.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making today’s celebration a success. Together, we continue to use sport to inspire, connect, and empower children.
